Dana Point, Calif. - November 20, 2002 - To simplify product configuration management and the generation of system usage reports on both Windows and Unix platforms, UniSolutions' new UNISOL JobAcct release introduces a Java User Interface that provides the same look and feel on both Windows and Unix platforms. The new Java User Interface application, allows the management of projects, cost-centers, rates and other JobAcct configuration files and generates detailed, chargeback, summary and graphical reports. Online help is provided with the JavaHelp system.

Also added in this release are graphical versions of the project specification interface suitable for use upon CDE or Windows startup, allowing users to specify the project where resources should be charged.

With the support of the Oracle Database Accounting option and the addition of I/O resource utilization on Windows implementations, the new release meets the demand of organizations running multiple Operating Systems and especially various Unix and Windows versions, by tracking and billing for the same resources on both platforms.

Oracle accounting improvements include options to create detailed session accounting reports, and the ability to map database usage to projects by current project, username, schema name or application name.

Disk accounting has been improved to generate detailed file/disk space usage reports and to specify several starting locations / filesystems for accounting in addition to the standard methods of tracking user and project home directories. Other additions to this release include detailed reports by user name (as well as user id), mapping of specific programs to specific projects and the saving of pie and bar-chart reports in a graphical file format (JPG or PNG).

UNISOL JobAcct now runs on Windows NT, 2000, and, XP. New Unix platforms supported by UNISOL JobAcct include AIX 5.1L, UnixWare 7.1.1, Tru64 5.1, Solaris 9, and, the UNICOS 10 and UNICOS mk OS's. JobAcct also runs on Solaris 2.6, 7, 8 and 9, HP-UX 10.20 and 11x, AIX 4.3, SGI IRIX 6.2 and 6.5, Red Hat Linux 7.x and SCO Open System V.

The Oracle Database Accounting option allows system administrators higher accuracy and greater flexibility for tracking and billing server utilization for response to queries against Oracle databases. The Oracle database accounting option from UniSolutions is unique in its ability to execute precise database cost accounting and assessment for each user, group, project and cost center. UniSolutions' JobAcct job accounting and assessment software package for UNIX and Windows systems executes precise cost accounting and assessment for each user, group, project and cost center encumbrance on a project/department level.

JobAcct is highly flexible. The assessment rates for JobAcct can vary for prime-time, non-prime-time, and reduced-charge hours for each chargeback number. There are also variable accounting periods, in one day intervals, for each project, cost center, user and group.

The JobAcct software package requires a licensing agreement, which starts at $1,295 for a network license.
